Treehouse Kitchen Pastry Cook Position

The Treehouse Kitchen (THK) is a commissary kitchen that will be used to supply food for weddings and elopements at Treehouse Point, baked goods for service at Treehouse Point for overnight guests, both pastries and ready to eat items for the Aroma Coffee Company, and provide ready to heat items for retail sales out of the Treehouse Kitchen to the public.”

Job Highlights

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a pastry and/or baking prep kitchen.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen

  • Proficiency with measuring and mixing baking ingredients

  • General knowledge of baking standards and methods( creaming, whipping, intensive ect...)

  • Capability to follow recipes and adjust ingredients and scaling formulas

  • Physical ability to handle kitchen equipment( up to 50lbs) and stand for extended periods

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive work environment starting with grace and honor for yourself and each individual you work with on a daily basis

  • This role is ideally suited for candidates who excel at preparing a wide range of baked goods within a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • As a pastry cook you will be instrumental in preparing exceptional pastries including but limited to: muffins, coffee-cakes, cookies, brownies, tarts savory/sweet, entremets, laminated doughs, quick breads and other assorted baked goods.

  • Bake and prepare food according to pre-established recipes, providing consistent quality for all outlets

  • Observe and test product to determine if they have been baked correctly, and maintain quality standards

  • Produce product in a cost effect, efficient and hygienic manner

  • Assist Pastry Chef in a support role, constantly striving to improve operating procedures

  • Properly label and date all products to ensure rotation, safekeeping, and sanitization

  • Ensure all food quality is consistent and up to standard and takes initiative and action to correct any irregularities

  • Work within the sanitation standards and maintain compliance of local, state, and federal regulations, and guidelines.

  • Other duties as assigned

How You Will Be Successful

  • Knowledge of all applicable food sanitation guidelines

  • Knowledge of health & safety standards, and safety regulations as required

  • Skilled at basic math.Demonstrating the ability to understand recipe/formula measurements, proportions and large scale quantities

  • Read, write, speak english fluently

  • Ability to read and understand recipes, food abbreviations, weights, and preparation techniques

  • Ability to take direction, notes, and work alone when appropriate

  • Desire to be teachable and learn from every new experience

  • Ability to multi-task and follow procedures

  • Ability to always maintain professional appearance and demeanor including vocabulary

Treehouse Kitchen Dishwasher

The Dishwasher plays a vital role in keeping Treehouse Kitchen running smoothly. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, dishes, and work areas, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all kitchen users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment

  • Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area, sinks, floors, and trash/recycling stations

  • Assist with basic kitchen cleaning tasks, including mopping, wiping surfaces, and taking out trash

  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines

  • Support kitchen staff and members as needed to keep operations running efficiently

  • Report maintenance or equipment issues to kitchen management

Qualifications

  • Prior dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred, but not required

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, shared kitchen environment

  • Strong attention to cleanliness and organization

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs

  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player
